They are the canonical example of Population-based Optimisation Methods, and if they are not yours, they are mine and you are on MY blog—ha-ha—which compared to Single-State Optimisation Methods will have multiple solutions evolving concurrently.
Among other things, they are the key workhorse to my evolution framework: Aegis. It is not a shield, but rather an end-to-end trading framework that makes use of genetic algorithms and Pareto fronts to generate and deploy fully autonomous and data-driven trading strategies.
